Fan Album

30th Anniversary of Monkey Island 2 is December 2021!

We are kicking off a collaboration project to create a fan made album of covers/arrangements/orchestrations of the Music from Monkey Island 2. The collaboration will work like this:

There are a lot of great tracks to this beloved game, so it would be great to get a range of covers for the album. Covers can be your own interpretation of the tracks, recreated in any form you like. For example you could create big orchestral versions, 8-bit versions, vocal versions, dance versions, lofi/chillout versions, a medley - however you have always wished a track could sound, you can do it and submit it for consideration.

We will be looking for people to nominate one track to do as an individual track by themselves, and one track to do as a collaboration with one other member of VMW that uses the same DAW as you. We will organise all this in its own collab channel on the server. Everyone is invited to participate, and track selection will be a combination member votes and staff picks.

While the music is being created, we would also love for artists to think about any fan artwork they would like to submit for the video album, which will be premiered on the VMW YouTube channel. :-) And depending on the level of interest, we may ask for people interested in creating videos for each track to get creative as well, once all the other assets are ready.

Time Frame: Music/Art submissions due 30 April 2021

We are aiming to have the video released before the games anniversary later in the year.

There are lots of versions of these tracks around, so do some searching and find some inspiration.
